Who we are
sidework provides free websites and a local services board for independent tradespeople. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it.
SMS and mobile numbers
We do not share, sell, rent, or otherwise disclose mobile phone numbers to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party for any purpose.
We use your mobile number for one purpose: sending a one-time code so you can sign in. You provide it by entering it on our sign-in form, which is how you consent to receive that message.
- Message frequency: one message per sign-in attempt. We do not send marketing or promotional texts.
- Message and data rates may apply. Your carrier's standard rates apply to messages you receive.
- Opt out: reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts. You will not be able to sign in by SMS after opting out.
- Help: reply HELP, or email us at support@my-sidework.com.
Mobile numbers are shared only with our SMS delivery provider, strictly to deliver your sign-in code. That is a service provider relationship, not marketing.
What we collect
- Providers (tradespeople): mobile number, business or personal display name, city, service area, the services you offer, and any description, pricing hints, or photos you choose to publish.
- Visitors: we do not require an account to browse. We do not collect names or contact details from people browsing listings.
- Technical: we record a one-way hash of the IP address used for sign-in attempts, to enforce rate limits and prevent abuse. We do not store the raw IP address for this purpose.
What we publish
Information a provider chooses to publish — display name, city, services, listings, photos, and contact phone number — is public by design. That is the point of the service: it is how customers find and contact you. Do not put anything in a public profile or listing that you do not want publicly visible and indexed by search engines.
A provider can unpublish their site at any time from their dashboard, which removes it from public view.
How we use information
- To authenticate you and keep you signed in.
- To display provider profiles and listings to the public.
- To enforce rate limits, quotas, and prevent spam and abuse.
- To generate optional AI-assisted drafts, which you review before publishing.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use your information for advertising.
Service providers
We use third parties to operate the service: hosting, database and authentication, SMS delivery, and an AI provider for optional drafting. They process data only to provide those services to us. Content you send to the drafting feature is processed by our AI provider to generate the draft.
Retention
Account and profile information is kept while your account is active. Sign-in rate-limit records are short-lived and pruned automatically. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your profile and listings from public view and delete your account data.
Your choices
- Edit or unpublish your profile and listings at any time from your dashboard.
- Reply STOP to opt out of SMS.
- Email support@my-sidework.com to request deletion of your account.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above.
